BSC Second year English Assignment (Important questions)

 QUESTION:1

WRITE A DESCRIPTION ABOUT NIGHT OF THE SCORPION

The poem “Night of the Scorpion” recounts an incident that occurred on a miserable rainy night. The poet remembers that it had been raining heavily for ten hours and a scorpion crawled beneath a sack of rice in the poet’s home to keep itself away from water. Then unfortunately the scorpion stung the poet’s mother and after biting his mother the scorpion with its diabolic tail it left the house.

It must be a rainy night in summer because we experience heavy rain only in summer. So the setting of the poem “Night of the Scorpion” is a rainy night. The encounter between the poet’s mother and the scorpion is not told in detail. We don’t know why the scorpion stung the poet’s mother. One thing is clear that the scorpion came to keep itself dry from the relentless rain, it might have stung only to protect itself. The poet’s address of the scorpion as ‘diabolic’ suggests the poet’s anger at it and from a son’s perspective, it is justifiable.

QUESTION:2

WRITE A SUMMARY ABOUT LETTER TO GOD

The story, "A Letter to God" by G.L. Fuentes depicts unwavering faith of a farmer in God. It begins with a farmer, named Lencho expecting for a rain shower to nourish his field of corn. He is confident that his harvest is going to yield him huge profits just like it does every year. To his utmost excitement, rainfall did happen but sooner, it turned into a hailstorm destroying his entire crop field. The damage posed a threat to the family's survival as their entire livelihood was dependent on the year's produce. Although disheartened, the family had robust belief in the almighty. Lencho, despite having worked day and night at the field, knew how to write and thus, decided to write a letter to God explaining his situation and asking for help. He went to town to post his letter addressed "To God". The letter on being noticed by the postmaster, at first amused him, but then motivated him want to do something for the farmer so as to keep his immense belief intact. He contributes from his salary and collects money from his colleagues and friends who willingly contributed for an act of charity. To his dismay, he could only collect 70 pesos which he wrapped in an envelope to make it seem like a reply from the deity. On having found the letter, the writer (Lencho) is not at all shocked, but instead, he gets angry on finding that the amount is less than what he had expected. He again writes a letter to God conveying his disappointment and distrust in the employees of the post office who he thought had stolen the remaining amount.

QUESTION:3

HOW MANY TYPES OF PART OF SPEECH. DESCRIBE NOUN AND PRONOUN ?

There are eight parts of speech in the English language: noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection.

The part of speech indicates how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within the sentence. An individual word can function as more than one part of speech when used in different circumstances. Understanding parts of speech is essential for determining the correct definition of a word when using the dictionary.

1. NOUN

  • A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, or idea.

man... Butte College... house... happiness

A noun is a word for a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns are often used with an article (theaan), but not always. Proper nouns always start with a capital letter; common nouns do not. Nouns can be singular or plural, concrete or abstract. Nouns show possession by adding 's. Nouns can function in different roles within a sentence; for example, a noun can be a subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, or object of a preposition.

EXAMPLE:-

The young girl brought me a very long letter from the teacher, and then she quickly disappeared. Oh my!

2. PRONOUN

  • A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun.

She... we... they... it

A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun. A pronoun is usually substituted for a specific noun, which is called its antecedent. In the sentence above, the antecedent for the pronoun she is the girl. Pronouns are further defined by type: personal pronouns refer to specific persons or things; possessive pronouns indicate ownership; reflexive pronouns are used to emphasize another noun or pronoun; relative pronouns introduce a subordinate clause; and demonstrative pronouns identify, point to, or refer to nouns.

EXAMPLE:-

The young girl brought me a very long letter from the teacher, and then she quickly disappeared. Oh my!

 QUESTION:4

MAKE IT THE TENSE CHART

QUESTION:5

WRITE AN ESSAY"ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT A GOLD"

Gold is bright yellow metal, and it shines brightly. However, many things shine bright, but they are not Gold. The precious jewel Gold is a chemical element that is highly valuable. However, a lot of other objects do shine like Gold but are not Gold. Therefore, one should not judge something due to its outer appearances. Instead, we should examine carefully and find out the real value.

The real value of an object or a person does not lie in outward appearances. A neatly dressed person is not always beautiful at heart but might be wrong at times. However, a poorly dressed person’s appearance may look ugly but might possess real good qualities at heart.

For instance, while shopping, the proverb phrase reminds us to choose things that add the most worth. While choosing friends, some people might not be the same as we thought them to be. While seizing opportunities, dream jobs might be hard and stressful. While chasing dreams, they might be different from reality. Thus, an attractive appearance might lead to falsehood.

Thus, the proverb tells one to develop a habit of being rational and use correct judgment so that one cannot get deceived by their outward appearances.

Physics assignment Paper 1 (Important questions)

QUESTION:1   Explain the fermet's Principle Fermat's principle , also known as the  principle of least time , is the link between  ray optics  and  wave optics . In its original "strong" form,  Fermat's principle states that the path taken by  a ray  between two given points is the path that can be traversed in the least time. In order to be true in all cases, this statement must be weakened by replacing the "least" time with a time that is " stationary " with respect to variations of the path — so that a deviation in the path causes, at most, a  second-order  change in the traversal time. To put it loosely, a ray path is surrounded by close paths that can be traversed in  very  close times. It  can be shown  that this technical definition corresponds to more intuitive notions of a ray, such as a line of sight or the path of a narrow beam.
